Infinite Digital Strip

Posted By: daku on February 28, 2006

Hear I was thinking that I would be able to post an example of this for everyone but I’m starting to learn just how finicky artists really are. That’s what I get for thinking I had 6 and now I have 2. You’ll just have to wait for the proof of concept but at the very least I can tell you about my experiment.

So here is my Infinite Digital Strip. It expands upon the concept of the “Infinite Canvas” as proposed by Scott McCloud. My inspiration is the understanding that web pages are not infinite in the manner McCloud believes. Read on…

[News] Always Room For Two More in the Boxcar

Posted By: The Geek on February 24, 2006

When I was a kid, I always wanted to become one of the Boxcar Children. Unfortunately my inability to solve mysteries and my still living parents prevented me from doing so. Fortunately Boxcar Comics, has no such requirements and has welcome two new strips into their collective.

The two strips are Aikida by J. Meinzer and Hate Song by Fred Grisolm.

Aikida is strip that’s done it all through it’s various incarnations. Currently it’s telling a longer, fantasy story involving, ninjas, demons, magic and “of course” busty women. Read on…

I’ll be honest. I did not get today’s Chugworth Academy at first. This didn’t really surprise me. While I read Chugworth every update, in general I enjoy the artwork more than the writing. It’s just a style that doesn’t jell with me.

I figured it was just a reference to something I didn’t know about. But then I read the news post underneath and it all became clear to me and I felt it was worth sharing.

It’s a vicious cycle but it’s entertaining to me none the less.

[News] Brad Guigar Turns Six Years Old

Posted By: daku on February 21, 2006

The web comics industry is relatively young when compared to every other comics medium. That’s why it’s so nice to have a few veterans around we can point to as examples of who is getting it done and doing it right. One of those is Brad Guigar who is arguably one of the most influential people in web comics last year. February 14 marked six years of daily webcomics which started with his original strip, Greystone Inn, on February 14, 2000, and has updated every Monday-through-Saturday ever since with few exceptions.
