Jason tries a new format and Steve immediately points out how invalid it is. Plus: Is hotshotting the titles around a good idea? Did the SummerSlam Big Beefy Boy Smashfest deliver? Are we looking at a squash match at No Mercy? Is Braun Strowman big enough to hide Samoa Joe for an entire match? How is Chad Gable’s spatial awareness? And can Kevin Owens find a special referee, or is he too Kevin Owens to get it done?
Raise your hand if you hate ambulances! Also, Roman Reigns. If you raised them up for both, you were in luck this past week! Also, the shake-up went down and we’ve got brand-new feuds to look forward to! Ambrose/Miz! Zayn/Owens! Mahal/English! All that, plus: Wyatt and Balor will compete to see who is the silliest wrestler in WWE, the Cruiserweights made it a week to remember, and Drew McIntyre made his re-emergence in NXT.
The Fastlane to the on-ramp to Wrestlemania has come and gone, and both Steve and Jason feel less than whelmed. Will the cruiserweights continue their momentum from their tremendous showing? Can Bayley up her game heading into Wrestlemania? Wouldn’t it be better for EVERYONE to have a spear, since it’s such a devastating move? Why does Bill Goldberg sweat so much doing so little? The answers to these questions, plus: No one will be cheering Roman at Mania, the refs need to learn how to drive a forklift, and Emma debuts soon!
This past week in WWE (which was most definitely NOT the go-home for Fastlane) featured a return to the Kevin Owens of old, and that is a return we can get behind. The Big Show also returned for a great showing against Strowman in the Raw main, plus Naomi broke our hearts when she had to drop the title. So much emotion, and then Brock Lesnar stared into our souls and we’re afraid to leave the house. Vroom vroom Fastlane, hurry and get here! (Also, sorry about Jason’s sound quality. He has been punished.)
Your favorite WWE Superstars have some fun weaknesses, and we’re exposing them! Also, is the best way to once and for all finish a feud with a Loser Dies Match? Is Dolph Ziggler eternally hairless? And how great was the Festival of Friendship? We’ve hired a magician and we’re here to enjoy it all over again with you, the dear listener!
The last PPV of the year brings us our second Roadblock of the year, but this one is the End of the Line! We have updates on Zack Ryder, James Ellsworth, and Sami Zayn, in addition to our predictions for the big night. Who can afford to eat a loss, Rusev or Cass? Will the New Day lose so soon after making history? Will Sami survive Strowman? Will the cruiserweights deliver? Will we care by the end of the Ironwoman match? Will HHH start the build to Wrestlemania? And will someone please give us a break and not announce a new belt and/or show for a few months?
It’s been a week and already there has been massive change in the world of WWE. We run down the events leading up to the crowning of the NEW Universal Champion and what that means for the future of the RAW brand. Their CWC also continues to kick so much ass, but we don’t know what to expect when the transition is made to the CW division on RAW. Steve has also been watching a lot of WC (What Culture) PW and has thoughts about it.
We’re back and knocking off the ring rust with talk of the big WWE Draft! Steve and Jason agree that the best thing about the event was Kevin Owens, while also wondering where else an announce table might go. In the second segment, it’s a deep dive into the insanity that was The Final Deletion. Put down that sandwich and step away from the craft services table, because it’s time for your match!
