The Mae Young Classic has arrived and Jason gives you the skinny on the first round of matches! Who soared? Who tumbled? In other WWE views this week, Raw moved towards No Mercy while SmackDown Live floundered under the weight of a boring main event scene. Also, Steve gives a quick report on WCPW (free on YouTube!) and the guys weigh in on the kerfuffle that was Cena owning Reigns on the mic. Stay tuned after the show proper to hear what Steve thinks the Jax/Bliss feud should amount to.
Vacation’s over and it’s time to talk about a LOT of wrestling! Money in the Bank came and went, Carmella stole the briefcase (twice), and that lovable bearded maniac made his return. Things are going pretty well, so let’s talk about our hopes and fears for the first-ever Great Balls of Fire PPV event!
Jason still loves the Fashion Files, but has no time for Facetime in wrestling matches and thought Raw was a rerun this week. Steve dug Okada vs. Omega, loves that Lucha Underground is back, and stays hyped about the return of the Hype Bros. Together, they run down the Money in the Bank card, including two MitB Ladder Matches!
We refused to hinder the Jinder and now we’re all just bit parts in his Punjabi celebration! We also got one of the best matches of the year from two guys who exist on the fringes of the WWE Universe, but who stole the show nonetheless. Also of note this week: Gargano and Ciampa are the MVPs of the week, KO on Talking Smack was brilliant, Pete Dunne needs to learn how to carry a championship belt, someone gave Breezango guns, and why Nak ain’t strong style on the mic. Keep your wad and enjoy the show!
Randy Orton took some initiative and decided to burn down the whole Wyatt compound, which might actually be a shed? Nikki Bella was a best part of a promo between Cena and The Miz? SmackDown was better than Raw? Fastlane is here again? So many surprising twists and turns on this, the Fastlane to Wrestlemania seasontime!
Your favorite WWE Superstars have some fun weaknesses, and we’re exposing them! Also, is the best way to once and for all finish a feud with a Loser Dies Match? Is Dolph Ziggler eternally hairless? And how great was the Festival of Friendship? We’ve hired a magician and we’re here to enjoy it all over again with you, the dear listener!
It’s time again for another WWE PPV special event, only on the WWE Network! But this time, the guys have special guest Frank “The Tank (Engine)” Gibson with them to help make sense of it all. Together, these pros grapple with questions like do our significant others support our fandom, with so many weaknesses why can’t anyone defeat Bill Goldberg, and why should Steve care about the cruiserweights when WWE has conditioned him not to? All this, and everyone gives their picks for the Elimination Chamber!
The Royal Rumble is nearly here, and our biggest problem is TOO MANY MONSTERS! Meanwhile, Sami has a new character and it’s … different. Also, Charlotte fought a wavy tube man, Bray hit his son, Dolph tried to kill The King (again), and Mickie James made her return to the main roster! Time to reset and do all this stuff again! WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!
The road to the Royal Rumble continues, with not a Roadblock in sight! RAW was pretty terrible this week, so the guys instead focus on Smackdown, NXT, and even NJPW to find the good in the grappling. They wrestle with the following questions: Who will win the 2017 Royal Rumble? Is it possible that entrance themes play magically upon proximity to an entry way? Did Carmella fight an old lady? Will Tozawa save us from a lackluster 205 Live product? Is an Intergalactic Championship on the way?
Welcome to 2017, Grapplers! It seems that not much has changed, but the machine keeps rolling on. We have some Roadblock thoughts and reflections to mix in with our talk about the recent RAW and Smackdown Live goings on, including the HOT FIRE return of the King of the Cruiserweights, Neville, and why Sami Zayn is the most compelling story being told on the RAW roster right now. Also, how many entrance themes include self-voiced intros? Our report!
